Our experienced guides will lead you through breathtaking landscapes, from lush forests and vibrant heather zones to the dramatic glacial peaks. This trek is a true test of physical and mental endurance, offering a sense of accomplishment unlike any other.
What to Bring:
Morning spent sorting and organizing personal equipment for the trek. Drive to Mt. Kenya National Park Gate and have a leisure walk to Met Station (3-4 Hours; 9 kms), where we spend the night in the mountain log cabins at an altitude of 3,050m. The afternoon will be spent on a short hike in the area to assist in the acclimatization process.
Hike up into the Teleki valley where there is a spectacular view of the main peaks. Walking time approximately 4-6 hours. Overnight at Mackinder’s Camp (4,100m).
The final ascent begins with a pre-dawn start to ensure a successful summit bid and in time for a clear view of the majestic summit scenery at sunrise. After ascending to Pt. Lenana we return to our base camp for breakfast and then proceed down the mountain to Met Station where we will be met for a welcome drive back to the Lodge.
